Razer Copperhead vs Logitech G7/G5 (POLL)

which would you guys buy if they were both at the same reasonable price of $25? have been a loyal owner of logitech mice, but an mx518 and a g7 has died on me recently, need new mouse....

I have a G5 and it is fantastic. I looked into a razor copperhead, but it just isnt shaped in a way that I really like. It is to old fashioned (eg it is meant for a righty or a lefty), I like the G5 because it is molded to the shape of your hand. Your thumb rests in a nice comfortable grove on the side. Their features are directly comparible as far as I know (on the fly DPI changing, back button for internet, scroll wheel etc.)

I have the MX-518 i've had no problems if you had a MX-518 and a G7 die on your surely you can get them replaced get a new g7 if you had a mx-518 die on you might be able to get g7 plus a wireless keyboard there support is very good.

The right mouse will be the one that you like using the most. If you were absolutely comfortable with your MX518 and G7, go for a Logitech again. Actually, I don't see why you haven't just RMA'ed the dead mice - Logitech mice have rather long warranties; take advantage of that if you can, and save yourself some money.

Personally, I voted for the Copperhead (first one so far!). I absolutely love my Diamondback, because the shape is perfect for me and I simply forget that I'm even using it. I've tried Logitech's offerings, but they're just too big and strangely shaped for me to use as quickly as my Razer.

I likewise voted for the copperhead. But I suggest you try one out before you buy. Some people can't stand the feel of the Razr, so you might want to try it out beforehand.

As far as the votes, what do you expect? It's Logitech - arguably the most pervasive keyboard/mouse vendor out there - versus a smaller, niche, hardware maker.

I hear the Logitech's are pretty good, since I can't say I've tested them. Personally I'm happy with the performance I've had from a Razr Diamondback and Copperhead. Bonus: I'm not too partial to the looks on the logitech 😉

I have always found that logitech are the most comfortable mice to use for me. I haven't used a Razr but it would have to be awesomely comfortable to use to be worth trading in my MX1000.

concerning the Logitech support posts: i have already RMA's both mice, it was my cousin's birthday and father's day recently and gave them each a mx518 and a g7 =] (that was when i still had my first g7).

i DO like the shape of logitech's but i've been using their mice for over 4 years now.. maybe time for a change? i dunno. i think people just voted for the g5/g7 because they own one, and not because its 'better' than the razer, i dunno

I can't notice enough of a difference one way or another. I have always loved my Logitech mice though. I have never owned a Razer but people that do speak highly of them.

I like the Logitechs. I have a G5 now, and it's great. I just miss the extra buttons on my previous MX510. But having only one button is forcing me to use the programmable buttons on the G5 more, so it all works out.

am I missing something when I come in this thread I see no poll.

I would vote for the G5 since I own one. I know alittle bias 😛

Best mouse i've ever used tho, haven't had a change to try any of the razor ones.

wow i guess the razer gets pwned in this matchup lol.. but i have a copperhead coming. got for $25, u guys think its worth it?

Hrmm. Yeah. I got my copperhead for free, but I gladly paid for my diamondback (which is now on a crappy IBM celeron-based work machine) back when it was still $50+

As I always say, Copperhead FTW. As long as you like the shape (some people done, I think it rocks), to me its the superior mouse. I havent used a G7, but I still dont trust wireless completely.... Also changing batteries every 2 days? screw that.

As for the G5, I tried one, the shape was nice, and as a mouse its not bad at all, but something about the texture, I didnt like it. just not quite right. also not as nice to control with my fingertips.

So, at the end of the day, I bought a Copperhead.

to back up the g7(as i've owned one before) its actually not 2 days lol, if you game more than 2-3 hours of fps per day its more like everyday. changing batteries isn't too much of a pain. it comes with 2 cartridges that charge very quickly and are easy to change. as for wireless i actually liked the g7 more than the mx518. the wirefrom the mouse actually gets annoying now (back to mx510 cuz mine broke) when i fps and it smacks against my legs or case.

Batteries DO die fast but its a cinch to swap out.

I love my mouse. Too bad I had 2 die on me after about a weeks use... Including the replacement.

i didn't say it was hard to change the batteries.... anyone know if i can run the copperhead without installing any drivers? whats the functions of the side buttons @ stock?

I own a G5 and I can say the only thing that I don't like about it is the actual scroll wheel itself. It's too hard to click with it due to the side to side scrolling. I can do it if I concentrate, but who wants to do that when you've got enemies firing at you? It's especially hard in GRAW. The whole first person squad command is based off the click and scroll of the middle mouse button (mouse 3).
Overall, I like the mouse a lot. I just wish it was easier to scroll click.

id say get a copperhead or mx518. For internet browsing, the back shortcut buttons on the MX518 really help, which the G7 is missing unfortunately. I don't know if the Copperhead has them or not, but if they do, I would say get either. For CS:S, I think they're pretty much equal too. You should try em out somewhere(i really dont even know if they have these in-store)or at least find a place with a good return policy, and find out which one works best for you.(G5/G7/MX518/Copperhead)

You do NOT need to install drives for the Copperhead. plug it in, and start playing. Stock settings: I cant remember, I will check that out for you though. I think one of them is "Back" and the other is "Forward", but the 2 on the other side I cant remember.
