Razer CEO promises left hand Naga

Just like the thread title say, Razer's CEO (Min-Liang Tan) has promised a left hand version of the Naga if his facebook (bleugh) post recieves 10,000 likes by April 21st.

He also states that razer is losing money on each left hand deathadder they sale, I am somewhat surprised by this. If they do make a left hand naga it will be even more a niche product than the deathadder I respect Razer for making left handed mice, and love my lefty deathadder.

I'm sure his post will get the 10K likes as its already at 6.5k at the time of writing this, I just thought I would share the link if there are any other left handed MMO players in this forum.

considering it's just plastic molds that needs mirroring and nothing else, i have a hard time believing they lose money on every one. i also have a hard time believing they will make anything but garbage.

Interior would have to be redone too since buttons would be in complete different positions.

It's also a separate SKU that has separate warehousing, inventory, etc implications. Far lower production runs mean higher costs.

But still, if you can't make money on a $45 mouse, then you've got some serious issues as a company.

Not really. Considering they have to have the product stocked and I'm sure it sits there for much longer than the right handed version. They could charge more. AFAIK they are the only company that makes decent left handed mouses.
 
Now if only they could make their products decently reliable and not break down all the time...

IMO, they're worse than Apple because with Apple even though their stuff is overpriced it's more reliable than average and is well-built. With Razer you get high cost and low quality.

When I first got my Razer Blackwidow Ultimate keyboard and Razer Mamba 2012 mouse, I would have disagreed, but six months later and I'll never buy another Razer product.

The mouse base won't initialize half the time the PC comes out of sleep; have to unplug and plug it back in, sometimes up to 5 times before it starts working. Phantom clicks galore (click, nothing happens); but strangely enough this doesn't seem to happen but in a few games (but all the time in Win7/IE/etc).

The Keyboard "K" key is random if it will work or not (either get nothing in 5 presses or, or get 10 K's in a row on first hit). The "T" key always works, but almost always at least 3 appear on each keypress. Needless to say this makes typing a chore. Worked perfect at first, but now...

Love the feel and look, hate the degradation of quality. Never again.
 
There type of reviews are why I went with a Logitech G700 mouse this week. While it does have it's share of problems, they didn't seem to be anywhere near as rampant as the Razor Naga reports.
 
Naga is such a horrible product name lol

I'm on almost two years with my Deathadder mouse and Tarantula keyboard and no problems as of yet. Though some of the key text is starting to wear, but no big deal. Also the mousepad I have from them is holding up extremely well, shows very little wear.

I've had 4 Razer mice, and I have a Razer keyboard now, never has a single problem with any of them. In fact I would probably only buy Razer mice and keyboards based off how well the ones I have owned in the past has performed and held up.
 
Very easy to see how they'd lose money. They'd have just as much production overhead (molds, designs, etc.) for the left hand mouse as they do the right hand one, but about 8-10% of the demand.

the motherboard doesn't change. all that's needed is to mount the thumb button board on the other side and run a slightly longer ribbon cable.

there are currently 3 different versions, 2 for $80 and 1 for $130.

for what it's worth, my $130 mamba has been nothing but terrible. the wireless mode simply does not work, the left click either double-clicks or not at all and sometimes the mouse refuses to track 1 or both axis for a moment. driver updates are super slow and the previous driver kept 1 core maxxed at 100%. these problems are not unique to me, but common across all mambas.

Ive had my Mamba for a couple years now and have nothing but good things to say about it. Absolutely love the mouse, best one I have owned. The ONLY complaint I have about it is that it doesnt track well against hard surfaces (aluminum mostly I believe).
