I have an X-Fi Platinum that I bought in early 2006. I get crackling and popping whenever artillery strikes go off in 2142. I'm pretty sick of Creative. Since I've had this card, I've had issues with crackling and popping, the driver needing to be reinstalled, the front i/o panel going out, etc. I recently purchased a set of Turtle Beach X-52s and they sound fine so I'm not sure if I would get the accompanying speakers (I'm very tempted) but do these first of all, offer an equivalent sound experience to my X-Fi (which it would be hard not to...the cracking and popping piss me off pretty bad) and secondly, will the sound card fit between the dual slot 8800GTXs that I have.

If it fits the criteria, I am in as I'm tired of my $200 sound card sucking. Also, is there an alternative to the Razer card? I use this system primarily for gaming and some music and video. But the audio quality of games is first and foremest.
