Found this on sale. Normally 32.99. Comes with 2 AA NiMH batteries. It is a "true" 1 hour charger. It will also charge a single 9V NiMH battery. Many people like the Maha C204F smart charger. This is also a smart charger, charging batteries independently of one another. I does full charge until it "senses" it is approaching full charge and then it trickle charges like the Maha. Difference being the Maha takes 60-160 minutes to charge. The Rayovac is 60 minutes regardless of the number of batteries. It also conditions the batteries like the Maha. I'll give you a few links to read up on the two.

Target as well as other stores carry this charger and it's priced at 29.99 everyday. Some of them have a bonus car adapter included.

I read the review and the spec sheet, and I didn't see anything on the charger conditioning the batteries. Did I just miss it?

Shutrbug:
You're right my mistake. Only the Maha conditions the Nicads.

This is the greatest charger ever! I've been using it with 20 Ni-Mh 1600 MAh.
Charge time is hard to beat, and Rayovac Ni-Mh 1600 are the best .
This charger even works with Radio Shack's batteries...

I bought mine at walmart for $30 a couple months ago. Great charger and great batteries. My digital camera and wireless mice love the Rayovac 1600's.

I also bought one of these at Wal-mart a while back for $29 and I like it as well. It's great being able to fully charge your NiMH batteries in only an hour. As for conditioning, just what do they mean by that anyway? Are they perhaps reffering to some method of completely discharging Nicad batteries before charging them so that they don't develop a "memory". If so, then this "conditioning" feature the other charger has, might be moot anyway if your only interested in using NiMH batteries and quite frankly now that we have NiMH batteries, I see no reason anyone would waste their time with Nicads anyway.

I have one of these as well and I love it. The other great thing is that it has an auto-shutoff feature. You don't have to sit by the thing until it's done.
