RAW file format - Nikon D80 Camera

My dad took a bunch of pictures in RAW format with his D80 camera but I have no idea how to open them. Not even Photoshop CS2 would open them. I think the extention is NEF. What do I need to open these?
 
Try downloading the Adobe Camera RAW plugin. It should be able to process the RAW files. If not, there's always UFraw for GIMP...
 
I'll have to wait until I get home then. All I have access to right now is dialup. That would take hours. :-/
