my PC starts rattling when it gets really hot and when i take of the side panel, the rattling sound is gone. mind you, for the rattling to happen, the computer has to get really hot (running a very hardware intensive game). the rattling is related to the PSU but it's not the main reason because like i said, with the case side panel off it doesn't rattle anymore...

anyone know how to remedy this?

Leave the side cover off?

How's your air flow in the case? Once the PSU gets warm, the fan should kick on. (If it's not on all the time like some cheap PSUs) Perhaps when the fan kicks on, it creates a negative airflow situation in your case. (more air being blown out than sucked in)

Rubber fan mounts?

Frozencpu.com carries sound dampening foam sheets for case panels also.

It could be as simple as an imbalanced fan or a PS connector very close to the case side. Check for the simple things first. The faster the fans spin, the more they tend to vibrate if they aren't perfectly balanced (few are really). So a connector close to the case side, with just the right amount of vibration, might rattle against the case. Just some possibilities. As I said; check for simple things first.
