Jumping for joy when the UPS truck showed up with my new 19"er. Never had anything over a 15"er before. Ran out to the truck in my bare feet and brought it back in...I felt like that little kid in A Christmas Story when he gets his BB gun for Christmas.

What a bummer when I discovered the video cable that attaches to the video card (or in my case, the decoder card) was permantly attached to the back of the monitor. Normally, I couldn't care less about this, but the other end, that connects to the card, has those 2 screws to screw it into the card and if I connect it to the decoder card there isn't enough room for the TV out cable...in other words, the video and TV out are so close together on the decoder card that I can't connect both cables to the card because the video cable for the monitor is too wide.

Before I go out in the rain and look for an adaptor or some kind of extension, could someone tell me where I could find something that'll work...Radio Shack, Best Buy, etc,?

The Voodoo and Voodoo II cards (3dfx cards) had a passthrough cable that had male and female ends, and were about 18" long. The one that came with my Diamond model was really thick and well built, you'd just have to tape the end to your monitor.. but I don't know if they'd help you. Is the plug too wide or the cable? THe plug on those 'passthough' cables is no wider tha any of the plugs on any of my monitors..

The Real problem is with the decoder card. They put the connectors too close. Is it by chance a DxR3 decoder from creative. Not that this really helps you, it's just my opinion on poor engineering.

Some bestbuys may have a video extension cable, but if the total length gets too long you will get faded video or poor quality video.

Some stores like Radio Shack or Staples carry video extension cables. Guess you'll have to put your shoes on and go see. Suggest taking the decoder card and tv-out cable with you to check-fit. Also, you could modify the extension (like cutting off the ears) so the monitor's warranty is not voided.

The end of the video cable is too wide. It's about an inch and a half wide because of the two screws. When I plug it into the decoder card there isn't enough room to plug in the cable that connects the TV and the decoder card. Previously I had picked up a different video cable (that had a narrower plug on it's end) to connect my monitor and decoder card, but I can't use that cable with my new monitor because it's video cable is attached to the back (I can't remove it in order to use a different cable).
