I was walking down the street a few days ago and I heard this little hi pitched squeek. I feel this weight on my foot, so I for some odd reason I paused and put more weight on it. the squeek got louder so picked up my and shook foot and I felt thing hanging on for dear life. I had no idea what was going on, but then i heard my gf scream and run down the street. I look at my foot and saw this rat (not mouse) flying off my foot as I made one last hard shake. I would have normally shrugged and thought nothing, but this was in daylight (little after 2 PM). WTF? To make matters even worse, I think that rat may have found my apt. I keep hearing little (big) bastards scratch behind my walls late at night. Man, the rat and mouse problem here is getting bad if tehy come out before it gets dark. I think it is time to move....

anyone else in boston seeing this problem getting worse?

They recently overhauled the sewer system near my mom's house (West Roxbury). Since then we've had to install rat traps all over the place because the buggers have fled the sewers and are taking up residence in the neighborhood.

yup. the little buggers run rampant in the area because of all the Restaurants. If you ever hang out behind a bar on newbury at night you can see them running around from trash bin to trash bin. Hell i was walking to work early (5 in the morn) a week ago and i saw an owl flying with a rat in it's claws.

surprisingly I haven't seen any rats in cambridge (i live on the cambridge side of the charles), but i spend most of my time in boston and I see them everywhere. I usually see the small ones in the t stations and the larger ones are in the alleys of newbury.
