Rats. Dead battery

Got back from a ride on the bike.

Oiled the chain. Tried to start the bike and the battery gave up.

Oh well. Time to get a Deltran Jr. Never thought I needed one till now.

Why would the battery be dead right after a ride? Is the battery bad? Alternator bad? Ride too short?

The regulator/rectifier on my SV quit and stopped charging the battery- are you confident the battery is the issue?
