Dig around in the news section of virtual-hideout. They have a $2 off code (every bit helps:) I have this pad - it's quite nice!

These are better with ball mice than optical though, right?
More resistance, bad refraction?

I believe the newer ones were made w/optical mice in mind

I'll let you know how it works w/a logitech optical mouse

Just got one to give it to those bastards at |H|ard|CS :|

I use an older RatzPad and there is a small spot or two I hit where the intellieye jumps but is is no big deal. Anyway, they are great mouse pads.

I've run a ratzpad forever, and the second gen micrsoft intellieye and the current logitech mx700 cordless have zero problems - this is an EXCELLENT extremely low friction pad for gamers.

I'm going to have to put my opinion up. I bought these for $10 each a while back, bought 4 of them. 1 for each computer (including work comp) that I use regularly. These pads are simply awesome. If you compare them to Everglide, which is arguably their closest competitor, it simply blows them away in price and friction. These pads are FAST, much quicker than the Everglide pads. They work great with my old school Razer 2000dpi.

thanks for the post! my mousepad at home has been giving me lots of grief lately because it slides all over the place when playing diablo or counterstrike. turns out cheaper for me ordering through pcmods. got 4 for a total of $50 including shipping and no tax, so it averages out to $12.50 a piece. I tried going to newegg first but it would only let me order 1, and it would charge tax too, so I'd end up paying about $16 a piece over there. glad I went through pcmods instead.

got one of these about 1 month ago for me and a budd. I Will never use another mouse pad again.. This thing is totally awesome. It has a huge surface and doesnt slide around the table. Im thinking about purchasing another one for my work computer, but I cant seem to find that 2 dollar coupon.

Also I noticed a coupon for the 'PC60 anodized Blue or Purple' case for an extra $50!!! It's on sale right now for $109.99 and with $50 that's $59.99! Pretty good price!

I can try to help you out there. Go to the www.virtual-hideout.net website and then click on the 'Archive' link. Then click the first link that's from 3/9/03-3/30/03. Lastly do a find for the phrase 'PCMods coupons for VH Readers Only!' and it should be right there in that tiny paragraph! Have fun!

for those who had these for awhile.... does the surface that comes into contact with your hand wear away after awhile? like turns shiny?

I'm trying to enter the coupon code, but upon checkout, it doens't show up. And I don't wanna order it finding out that it doesn't go through. Anybody else use the coupon with success?

I would reccomend you guys save your money and get a func surface 1030, or a steelpad. you can get the 1030 at most places newegg, act-labs.com , or the steelpad at team3d.com . both have been reviewed as mouspads far superior to older ones (everglide, ratpad, 3M pad ect). i personally use the func 1030- its 20 bux, but it was teh BEST 20 dollars i ever spent for gaming. PERFECT for CS and quake :) sorry if this is thread crapping but in my case those are the much better value

I've actually heard quite the opposite from people that have used both.

I LOVE my RatpadzGs Mousing Surface. It's so much better than that crappy piece of paper I had to cover my desk. Mouse never jitters anymore (it's a Logitech Optical blue wheel mouse). And it just looks way cool on my desk. :D

From Newegg:
Buy 2 pcs @ $14 EACH, Free FedEx Saver shipping
Buy 10 pcs @ $12 EACH, Free FedEx Saver shipping
Buy 80 pcs @ $10 EACH, Free FedEx Saver shipping

Wish we could somehow organize a group deal for 80 of them @ $10 shipped each
Distributing them will be tricky and negate the savings though.

I'll probably get 2 of them on my own.

Ahh well screw it. I don't see why I am fretting over a damn mousepad lol. I was like "how to I use this coupon" and "which vendor shoudl I buy it off of!" Pretty ridiculous, but that's just me. Maybe if I find one int he gutter somehow, I will pick it up :).
