Who else thinks it sucks? I got it for free, so I'll use it, but it's WAY too rough and is already starting to scratch the pads on my MX300.

I've got a Microsoft Optical corded mouse and I love it with my ratpadz GS. I don't think it is "great" or "sucks" all around because it depends on what mouse you use with it. There isn't any one final thought to this pad because it depends purely on the mouse you use. It works best with light corded mice so batteries don't add weight as well as smooth pads on the mouse.

I'm still using my Ratpadz that I got over 3 years ago. Not sure how the newer GS compares to the older padz, but they are probably very similar.

The Ratpadz's surface is rough and can put a beating on the mouse pads. I'd recommend getting some teflon tape (search for C4 in the Hot Deals forum) for just this. The lower friction makes the mouse just glide and helps to prevent the mouse pads from premature wear.

Sucks was a bit too harsh of a word, but I'd be very disappointed if I paid for it. If the pad scrates the pads on your mouse, then why don't they include a couple pieces of teflon tape with the Ratpad?

Probably because no one asked for it. YOu might want to e-mail that to them as a suggestion. Also, it depends what mice they tested it on because mine has its teflon still looking like new and this mouse has been used for a long time.

My email to Kyle:
I got a RatpadzGS while at BFG's HQ yesterday and overall I like it, One
thing that puzzled me was that after about 10 minutes of use, the pads
on my Logitech MX300 were already showing signs of being scratched.
People always recommend putting teflon tape on your mouse when using a
Ratpadz, which is a pain to have to buy tape to prevent your new
high-quality mousepad from damaging your mouse. If it doesn't
prohibitively increase the price, would putting a couple of strips of
teflon tape with each pad be possible. I realize that you ship in bulk,
but it sucks having to buy something for something you just bought (if
that makes sense)

Thanks for your time,
Bill

Response from Kyle:
Thanks, I wish we could do it for free, but that is not the case.
Interestingly, I have mice here that show no wear using our pads, in fact I
have yet to see one that has.
He basically sidestepped the question. I told him I know it isn't free, and he just told me again, and denied any problems. I never intended on buying one anyway, so it doesn't matter to me.
