A couple of days ago I started noticing slowdowns while playing WoW going from 60-70 fps down to 5 and then back up to 50-60. This would happen every 30 seconds or so.
After messing with every setting within WoW that I could think of that would affect video perfomance I started alt-tabbing out to check the video card settings within windows. I noticed that my card was running at 103 degrees C . I opened my case up and put a fan so that it was blowing directly into the case, that only lowered the temps to 89C
.
So today I plan on taking the card out and removing the heatsink, putting some AS5 on there and reseating it.
Is there anything else I should try or be aware of?
I don't want to try a third party solution just yet. But I am willing to go that method if a simple reseating doesn't work.
