I will mainly be using it to process RAW photos and some Photoshop work, but want to do some gaming (specifically Battlefield 2). I don't need crazy resolutions or frame rates for gaming. I think I want to go with socket 939 for future upgrades. Will the SATA HD be OK with the PSU in the Antec case? I heard something about different power connectors. If I can do it for less that would, of course, be nice. What do you think?

get the antec SLK3000B. it has no psu, so you can get something better. that one you have there is probably not enough. that case will cost you $30-40, so you can get a really nice power supply. not sure what your budget on that is.

Not enough power? What would be a good size for a PSU?

i'd say you want 400W. however, its not always the wattage that matters. you could have a 400w that is better performing than a 1000w. you want to look for lots of amps, and high effeciency. i can try to find something for you, but im not sure how much you can spend on a case/psu.

When I was researching NF3 MB's (about 6-8 months ago), that Gigabyte MB was not getting good reviews from actual users.
If you plan to OC, go with the Neo2 Platinum. If not go with the EPoX EP-9NDA3J.
Looks good other than that.

I don't plan to OC. What about the Antec SONATA II Black cold rolled steel ATX? It comes with a 450W PS. Or would I be better off buying a case and PS separately?

Antec makes some mighty good cases and PSUs (well actually chenming reference design, but who cares as long as their PSUs are good) - their TruePower PSUs are some of the best I have used (that aren't ridiculously expensive).

As much as i like my MSI K8N Neo2, i think going the route of PCI-e would be wiser.

If you plan to upgrade this sytem, PCI-e would be better.

I'd start with a 6600 GT.
