Is this rig a good price for what you get (I'll get video card seperately), or is it average? Also, do you think that the unit would fit a mid-to-high end graphic card with no issues?

HP Pavilion A6152N
Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600

Vista Premium
3GB DDR2 PC2-5300

400GB HD 7200 RPM SATA
16x DVD(+/-)R/RW DL LS Drive

$799 (after discount and $50 rebate).

It's got a very good CPU, excellent RAM (stock max for 32-bit) and a great price. Add a top video card and play your heart out.

Thank you. As an aside, does SLI mean I can add a second card down the road for a significant performance boost? And is there room in this case to do so do you think?

An SLI board would let you add in a card of the same type for added performance, but the main boost in performance is only really seen for high resolutions (>1280x1024), though that computer says nothing about SLI. It's probably just an Intel chipset board in there and so SLI wouldn't be usable.

You can turn it into a great gaming rig.

Don't forget to check the Power Supply though - the OEM's often use the PS to properly power the current configuration only.

If you are to add (for example) an 8800GTS, you will most likely have to upgrade the PS to something more powerful.

Good luck!
