Rate this budget build

newegg rma is fast and great. I've rma'd a bunch of stuff before. Thats why the only reason i'll go with newegg for their fast service, prices are mediocre. You should spend a little bit more and get pc6400

I had to RMA the PSU that came with a SLK3000-B that I used to build a PC for my girlfriend's parents. After a month of no new PSU I emailed them and they said they didn't have any in stock but that I'd get one when they did. Took 2.5 months total to get it. If I'd thought about it I would have called to bitch and tried to get something else sooner, but I had one of those FAR Ultras to use while waiting so didn't consider it.

If he can run his CAD software effectively on their existing W2k machine, I think a GMA950 is more than plenty for him 😉 btw good find on the card, might make a good Christmas present! Is it VGA only or is there a DVI adapter for it too?

2.5 months?!?!? no way i'd settle for that. That must have been during the peak of RMA time for them, when the bad batch made its way to all the consumers, hehe. They RMA'd a 350W SP for me within a week or so.

You're going to set him up with almost $200 of dual core CPU, 2GB's of memory and NOT a stand alone video card?

I tried filling out an RMA electronically and they were going to charge me a restocking fee or something. Better off going with a phonecall first I think.

You don't even have to call; you can talk with their online customer support people as well. That is what I always do. It is quick and easy, and they always waive the restocking fee.
