The intended purpose (in this order of priority):
1. Function as a Pro-sumer grade Digital Audio/Video Workstation for home studio recording and some light music video production.
2. Do some moderate gaming from time to time.
3. Perform other run of the mill computer workstation tasks (like surfing AT  )
The Specs and Pricing:
ABIT IP35 Pro - $128.00AR @ Mwave
Q6600 - $226.00 @ ClubIT
Corsair XMS2 DDR667 4-4-4-12 / 4x1GB - $68.00 @ ZZF (Never planned to OC past 3.0Ghz in the first place...
ATI x1300Pro - $0.00
I know, I know, but it was donated by a friend - This is only a temporary stop-gap until I can scrimp up enough $$$ for an 8800GT or an HD3750 or whetever else may be the next best thing by that time...
On Board Sound by Realtek (But what??! You said this was for a home studio!! Where is the E-MU or Hammerfall soundcard!!!?? - Not to worry,
I've got some very nice FireWire and USB audio interfaces from both Alesis and Tascam to handle the REAL sound processing work...)
Corsair VX550 PSU - $68.00AR @ Buy.com
ASUS DRW-1814 DVD-RW SATA - $23.99 @ Buy.com
2 x Segate Barracuda 7200.10 SATA 3.0 250GB/16MB (500GB RAID 0) $123.16 @ Digiconcepts
1 x WD Caviar 7200RPM IDE 133 500GB/16MB $0.00 (Donated from old PC used strictly by Acronis to back up the RAID array after a recording session or major software change)
Coolermaster HyperTX2 HSF - $0.00AR @ ZZF (Hey if this doesn't cut it then I'll gladly pull the trigger on a Zalman or a Thermalright but so far I think temps have been pretty good with this freebie but you can bet the judge - See pics of Overclock)
Antec 900 Case - $59.99AR @ Newegg
Total Build Price: $687.14
--Price does NOT include cost of OS. Currently running XP64 Eval and will likely purchase Vista HP64 OEM for ~ $100.00

My futile attempt at cable management w/o a modular PSU - I lost! (Blurry Pic)
Stock Speed Idle Temps
3Ghz OC temps after 30min of Prime95 Torture Testing (are these temps OK??)
Ahhh... Doing what it was built to do best!!
Feedback is Welcome!
