PS. the motherboard uses heatpipe northbridge cooling, the mb will be upside down as opposed to normal layout in my lian li case, will the heatpipes still be effective? HELP PLS

If you are on a tight budget, I would consider a cheaper power supply and using the onboard sound on the motherboard. Other than that, it looks pretty good.

-1 more because the heatpipes won't be doing the best job upside down and you're paying for an SLI board when you don't have to going the X1900 route
 
yea i've just read a lotta places online where it says the mb cannot be used upside down, thereform my new mb MUST have a fan =(
kinda looking into DFI Lanparty UT nf4 Ultra. any feedback on this?

and about the x2 3800... i got it for free. therefore i'm building a new system lol
 
Good build, but ditch the PCP&C and get an enermax liberty or seasonic etc.

The DFI is a favoured board around here, but it does have issues with some RAM, might be worth reading up on that one.
 
8/10 because u r using the X1900. sure it looks like a good graphic card, but everyday u read of more people with problems with the card. if i were u i'd get 2 7800GT is SLI. afterall, u did pay for an SLI mobo right? also because of the heatpipes. apart from that, LUCKY U!! also, how's u get a x2 3800 for free? i want one too...
 
motherboard is fine
cpu is fine
video...hopefully you wont be using crossfire. maybe you can drop down to a 7800GT or something, unless you need the best of the best.
ram is okay
sound you can get by with onboard, but you want a dedicated solution, i would go for an x-fi
case is whatever you choose
psu is okay (heard seasonic, enermax, and fortron were all good though)


mobo - 9/10 because i personally see no difference between the deluxe and premium besides the chipset cooling and price
cpu - 9/10 because its a good OCer and an x2. i would pick an opteron though.
video - 5/10 because the price. 7800GT is definitely the best bang for the buck and the x1900 will "most likely" get ousted by nvidias g71
ram - 8/10 you could drop the memory to cas 2.5 if you wanted, but its okay i guess
sound - 8/10 cause audigy 2 is still a damn good card, but the x-fi is IMO better
case - no rating because its your choice
psu - 8/10 because its PCandP and its...kinda expensive. there are cheaper and definitely good brands out there

so i would give this an 7.8333333/10.
 
thanks for the imput guys. well abou t the video card, there will always be a new video card out in a few months that will own w/e you or i have. the 7800gt imo is kinda old and i dont like that nvidia gpu's are bad with eye candy turned up and ati is known to better with half life (which is what i play).
mobo: thinking of getting dfi lanparty nf4 UT Ultra-D. is my ram compatible? i already have it
CPU: got it for free cuz my ex wants to get back with me (i know its bad) but i already told her i wont for other reasons and shes in japan and got it for $220 retail
video: she emailed me saying she can get me the 1900xt fot $400 LOL should i do it?
 
Ultra-D is great. Also you definetley do not need that pc power and cooling. Really. Much better off with a Enermax, Seasonic, or Fortron. The deals are great but... personally I wouldn't accept the gifts if I was never going to get back with her. Just my opinion. Seems kinda wrong to me... but otherwise an 8/10. And if the motherboard is upside down your motherboard might burn out right?
