http://www.CheapAssStudents.com

I'm looking for feedback on such things as whether the site is easily maneuverable, how the color tones are, usefulness, etc. Please let me know what you honestly think. I'm not looking for comparisons to other deal sites, just mainly the design of the site.

TIA for the feedback!

not bad
probably not the only deal site that pays for people to post deals though.......

What's the difference between that and cheapassdeals.com? Seems to be sharing the same list of items? I think the students one looks better of the two.

it looks cluttered, too many diff colors, a search box somewhere would be useful. can u move the top dell banner somewhere else? that extra stuff on top (advt, date, login) forces me to scroll down more to see the useful stuff on the site, deals!

I really like it. The colors are easy on the eye. The only thing I dont like much are the links to the actual deal. Maybe a picture or explanation with the link of the deal would be better. I saw alot of things I was interested in but I didnt click on because I didnt see a pic or an explanation by the product to encourage me to go on to the next step (clicking the link.)

You forget: You listed a 400 dollar video card on a site catered to broke college kids!

I think it should be a listing for a 12.00 GeForce 2 or something.

You list a $4000 plasma TV on a site that's marketed towards poor people?

BTW, most college kids aren't poor...

Thanks all for the suggestions! I spent the latter part of last week implementing some of your suggestions. The search box is something I'm working on next.

Check it out again and please let me know what you guys think.

As for CheapAssDeals and CheapAssStudents, they share the same database. The reason why I have two seperate sites is for marketing reasons. It's easier to push the site to college students with CheapAssStudents then it is with CheapAssDeals. Hopefully once CAS gets a decent sized userbase, I can start pushing CAD and the fact that people can make some money posting deals on CAD.

As for the plasma TV listing, I'll be more careful with listing these items. It was meant for CAD but because both sites share the same database, it showed up on CAS too. I will probably need to implement something to filter out these deals.

TIA!

Looks relatively professional, though you may want to reoptimize for 1024x768 or higher (with a bit of margin) instead of having everything barely fit at 800x600. That should solve the clutter issue. In the About square on the left, make sure "Alot" --> "A lot." But it does look like the groundwork is done for a pretty nice site :)

looks alright, but i still dont get why, for example, a poor student would fork over $300+ for a digi cam...

i initially thought you were gonna find deals on Ramen or Soda and the like, something definitely needed by a college student.
