Cool, I changed it. Just curious though, why wouldn't one 1 GB stick work?

And everything else looks good?

What's your budget and what do you plan on using this built for?

I need to keep it under $1000. I'm using it for video editing and gaming.

1. I think Intel is better for video editing and AMD is better for gaming.

2. Dual-channel ram needs to be paired in the memory slots...dunno why, it's technical.

3. Don't waste your money on SLI get the Asus A8N-E or a MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum(for AMD proc's).

One of the biggest reason for the switch from AMD Socket754 to Socket939 is that S939 can operate in dual channel (128 bit) mode,

instead of the S754 single channel (64bit).

And to take advantage of the dual channel memory capability of the NF4, you have to stick 2 identical RAM modules into the memory slots.

So why is it a waste of money to get the SLI board? It's only a few bucks more and it has a lot of features some of the other ones don't have. And it has room for future upgrades...

Why not just spend a few extra bucks and get the best of the best?

since you're getting an sli-capable graphic card, I see not reason not to get an SLI MB. Not everyone gets their total SLI setup in one purchase.

Because it's not :p The MSI Neo-4 Platinum has more features and only costs $130. The DFI Lanparty is better for overclocking. The ASUS SLI Deluxe is a waste of money, since you won't be needing SLI, and you shouldn't be running 2 6600GT's in SLI anyways. You'd be better off selling them and buying a single card solution for the same price that can outperform them.

i would get a better power supply with more watts/amps. next generation nvidia cards are power hungry especially if your going sli. i would get the nec 3520 dvd burner

No! Actually, you should probably think about getting an ATI card now, because ATI's multi-card graphics solution (like SLI, but for ATI) will support ANY video card for the second video card. You'll need 1 card that supports their new technology (I think it's caled MVP technology or something), but the second card can have any ATI chip. So, you could buy like an x700 or x800 now, and then re-use it with a new board and new card in the future, instead of buying a 6600GT and just abandoning it in the future for a better card.

yeah, most people have noticed that 2 6600gts are not better than a 6800u but costs way more.
