TOTAL:$1,250.00 with $750 off $2000 coupon...also I'll add a $35 coupon from E-Bay. Do you think it's worth splurging on the warranty?

Thanks!

Definitely not a bad price. I purchased almost the exact laptop 2 weeks ago with a 40% off $1500 coupon and got my E1505 for $1,038 shipped. I got a smaller hard drive, but I was also able to upgrade to a 2 year warranty (and added a second battery).

Maybe if you wait a bit you could get it cheaper, but if you need the machine now, go for it. It's a great laptop.

I'm new to the notebook scene (I build my desktop computers), and I need to buy a notebook for my son to take to China for a year, and also one for my wife to use in teaching. That widescreen Dell would be perfect for my son. Where do you get those coupons? Do you have any other recommendations? (What WLAN do you need in China?) Thanks.

hm. I was really thinking about getting an MSI with X1400 and AMD, but that works out to be 1700 with damn near specs.

ah well, I guess Intel it is for me.

Seems like a sweet machine for the money. I would definitely get the extended warranty, because without it you're really up the creek if anything breaks. I would also allow plenty of time before the warranty end if you need anything fixed by then.
