Total - $600 after rebates and cashback
I will be reusing my EVGA GTX 260 216core GPU and bought a $115 22'' Acer 1080 monitor.
Basically I just wanted to get a cheap i5 rig for gaming without sacrificing too many features so that would explain why I chose my board. I also plan on overclocking my CPU to 3.8ghz if possible.

I think the ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 already has thermal compund on it - Arctic MX-2. So I am not sure you need to go buy additional compound. Thoughts? Also, I would consider getting the Corsair 650HX because I prefer modular PSUs. I picked up WD Caviar Black 1 TB for $99 at Microcenter yesterday (you may be willing to spend another $25 bucks for this). Not major revisions, just some things to consider.

Rileychris: thanks for the suggestions.
Neither the cpu nor the cooler came with extra thermal compound so luckily I included that in my purchase. I like to keep a little spare in case I ever need to adjust the hsf or need a little extra in case the cooler did not have enough on it.

Do you mean the Corsair 620hx modular psu? Strictly due to budget restraints I chose the 650w as it gives me a little room for extra components while saving around $30 which I could use on other parts.

As for the hard drive, the only reason I chose it over a 7200.12 500gb or a F3 Samsung 500gb was because it was pretty cheap and provides very good performance. ($45 after bing cashback on newegg). For space I ordered a Samsung eco 1.5 TB drive for $81 (after cashback) I basically tried to build the most economic i5 rig without sacrificing too much performance.

I'm building a new system myself and i like your choices. The G.Skill memory looks good, i like the timings u get at just 1.5v.

I'm getting almost the same board u are, i'm opting for the A version that comes with SATA 6Gb/s and USB 3.0 should i ever decide to use these features in the future. It's $20 more at newegg so i figure what the hell might as well.

I'm also getting the Corsair PSU, the 550w version of yours.

Ok, just an update. The HSF CPU cooler I bought is VERY disappointing. I seem to be getting extremely high temps even for an intel CPU when I try to overclock it. I"ll be returning this and picking up a better one. Anyone have any suggestions for a good i5 cpu cooler?

I rate it an "L" on a scale of 4 to 378. Any other questions?

Seriously, it doesn't matter what we rate it, only whether it's what YOU want.
