Hey everyone, I'm looking for some feedback on the system I plan on building.
Using the guidelines from the sticky:

1. PC will be used for (not in any order): gaming, video encoding, general browsing/everyday use, web design and graphics design (having various adove suite apps open simultaneously)

2. My budget is around 800 dollars, which I calculated strictly on the parts I plan on buying, and don't feel it will cost any more than this (therefore the budget is very flexible, no real set price)

3. I will be buying my parts in Canada

4. Brand preferences? Hmm. Not really. Going intel, not fanboyism, just plain using my head on that one. ;)

5. See below

6. I always read and search threads, its how I get through work each day ;)

7. Definately overclocking. (want to push as far as I can on air)

8. asap

Here are the parts I am planning on:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450
RAM: Mushkin Ascent PC2-8000 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2-1000 CL5-5-5-12
PSU: Silverstone Strider ST60F 600W Modular PSU
Motherboard: DFI LANPARTY DK P35-T2RS
CPU Heatsink: Noctua NH-U12P + 1 extra NF-P12 fan for push/pull

Parts I will be using from current build:

Case: NZXT Lexa Classic Series
GPU: eVGA 8800GTS 320MB (overclocked)
HD: Seagate Barracuda 250GB 7200RPM SATAII

I might upgrade to an hd 4850 when they are released (price is tempting) but I don't think it is necessary, as I only game on a 19" inch monitor, and even on my old current build (an x2 3800+) this card doesn't have any trouble with anything I've thrown at it (except crysis :p) Also, as for the 250gb drive, I also have over a terabyte of external space, so storage is not an issue for me

*Note: I am set on getting a Quad core, I know a lot of people say 99% of users won't utilize them but trust me, I am one of the 1%'s who will :) I want to keep this computer for at least a few years

Let me know what you guys think, sorry about all the writing, just trying to answer any questions you guys might have.

Ask again in September. Trust me, building up a mental list now will just ruin a clear perspective you need in Q3 when new hardware has changed the market. Your list is sort of decent for what's available now, I'd get a gigabyte motherboard instead and the Q9300, Corsair 520HX PSU instead of the Silverstone, some decent RAM in and around DDR2-1000 like the G.Skill, but you should seriously just spend some time every few days between now and september reading around tech news, reviews and "rate my rig" threads until you can buy, to get a good feel for the current market. Come back and ask for suggestions in September.

Alright, I edited it a bit, let's say I was building right now (because as I said I am impatient and the thought of building now always comes up)

The only reason I would wait would be for the Q9550, but let's assume I am building now, how would it be? I might just get a Q9450. After all, the only difference between the 9450 and 9550 is a .5x multi, and if thats all I would be waiting for, there would be no point

I heard the Q9300 doesn't overclock well, and do you think 520W will be enough even for oc'ing? I want a little bit of space in terms of wattage, in case I buy another Hard drive or something. Also I'll check out the G.Skill ram, thanks for the input Roguestar

520W is plenty even if you overclock and add several drives.

The Corsair 520HX is a very good quality PSU, and it's also modular which is super convenient. The Q9450 may be a good choice if you were buying right now. I'd pair it with the Gigabyte EP35-DS3L and that Xigmatec cooler that's being recommended at lot lately.

You can go cheaper on some items to save tons of $$ for not much decrease in performance. Since you're overclocking you're probably looking for best bang/$.
CPU - Get Q6600. The new 45nm quad-core haven't improved much over Q6600 to justify the price difference.
RAM - follow GuitarDaddy's advice

alright, thanks for the tips, into that G.Skill ram, it seems to be quite popular. also, im not sure abou the cpu, maybe i will go with a Q6600, i'll ponder that one, maybe i can switch out the 9450 for a q6600 and spend that extra money i save on a new graphics card or something :)
