I'd suggest a Samsung Spinpoint HD, its quieter and a bit faster, I think its cheaper toom also do you really need the floppy drive? and finally I suggest Epox's NF4 ultra board although MSI is great too.

It'll be a nice gaming system now, and venice should have plenty of headroom for OCing, so I'd say that it'll still be playable in 2 years.

hard to say, with the hype of dual core

We all have our brand preferences and avoidances, so rather than try to thrust mine upon you, I'll just suggest searching this forum for "MSI" and seeing how many problems ATers have had with their mainboards. For comparison you can do the same with Asus, Abit, DFI...

Agreed with that, the DFI boards look like good choices for the NF4.

True, you'll probably want to upgrade when we start seeing games that really take advantage of dual core's multithreading capabilities. The good news is, with an updated bios your board will support AMD's dual cores.

If you want me to rate it on value, I would like to know what type of computer you currently own.

If your playing games on a 1.5GHz Duron with a GF MX now, I would rate the computer you're buying a 9 out of 10. Im not including of course all the fancy stuff like dual 6800 GT's and 300 dollar RAM modules.

Is there a newer BIOS revision than 1.2 (March 1, 2005)?
