E8500 (with intention to clock to 4.0)
UD3P
2x2GB G.Skill 1066
HD4870 1GB Sapphire
Corsair 750TX
Antec 300
640 Caviar Black
Samsung DVD-RW (no need for BD)
Vista 64 Home Premium

After rebates and shipping came out to be about 880. I didn't spend anything on a cooler though, did my research and im comfortable clocking it on stock, if the temps get too high i'll throw in 35 for a cooler. Any suggestions on that?

What does everyone think?

(I also intended to make this upgradable to 8GB of Ram and another HD4870 if I wanted to do some progressive upgrading. Also, if gaming in the next 3-4 years starts heavy utilizing C2Q I can throw in a Q line processor and clock accordingly)

Xigmatek S1283 is about $27 after rebate. Best cooler in its price range.

Go for a 4890 instead of the 4870 if your budget will stretch a little more. They overclock better, run cooler, better cards overall.

EDIT: Be aware - Intel has switched from the Core 2 Quad chips on socket 775 to the Core i7 chips on socket 1366. If you plan to switch don't wait too long or you'll be stuck finding a used chip on eBay or somewhere.

You actually might want to look into one of the AMD PhII quads instead if you plan on keeping this system for quite a while.
