I purchased my Aopen 1232a after reading extensive reviews on the net. Sites like CDRLabs.com and Storagereview.com rated this drive very highly, the former calling it the best price😛erformance drive available, the latter calling it the best budget drive.
Lo and behold, after using this drive for about 6 months, it has started to misfunction. I use it primarily to burn audio cds, and uptil now have burned about 70 CDs. The problem is that when using Nero it refuses to burn at 12x. I can hear it spinning up and making sputtering noises and eventually an error screen appears. I am forced to burn at 8x. Why did I pay for a 12x drive that functions only at 8x? :|
