Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (PS3 Review)

There is a lack of polish to the game that makes me think that it is an excellent first draft rather than a final product.

i have no clue what you mean by that, even after reading your review.

r&c is one of the most polished platformers i've ever played.

That is a weird choice of words, but I couldn't come up with anything else at the time. However, I think the faults listed in the Gameplay section provide some support. Those faults tell me that they didn't go back and proof-read the game, and it comes off as unfinished.

yea I dunno, I just disagree with a lot of your "reasons" for claiming that though 🙂

EDIT:

like you claim the tornado weapon is worthless. that to me tells me that you just did not use it or power it up at all. that is probably one of the best weapons in the game once you power it up.

I completely upgraded all, but three weapons. It's just boring to use the tornado. It's cool that it shoots lighting, but I don't like the fact that I shoot it and then have to wait until it goes away to use another one. It especially sucks if you launched it the wrong way by accident. I thought that the, I think it's called the Swarmer, is a baddass gun; better to use than the Tornado launcher. You can set up a crap load of those turrets that take care of your enemies, and the effect looks just as cool as the Tornado with lightning bolts coming out of it.

I loved the tornado. It may have been a bit of a waste on a couple of enemies, but against a boss or a large group (like the arena) I found it to be very effective.

Yeah, turrets are great. Against a boss or in the arena I always throw out the set-it-and-forget-it weapons (like the tornado, turrents, and those gel guys) at the start. Just throw them all out and then switch to a gun you have to manually shoot. Makes short work of most bosses.

you do realize that w/the tornado you can control it w/the sixaxis controls, right?

and by "ranked up" do you mean ranked up to level 10 or 5?

I did not realize that you could control it with the SIXAXIS. That would have made the tornado launcher much more interesting. Weapons didn't seem to gain any experience past V5.

They can go higher if you play the next difficulty after beating the game once.

yea you control the tornado w/the sixaxis, you can move it all around once it's floating around.

and yea you can upgrade your weapons to level 10 and higher. i believe you have to do the "challenge" mode or whatever it is after you beat the game. they cost tons more though but you start gaining a ton more money.

i beat the crap out of that game, probably finished it 6 times total and still have 3-5 weapons that are at level 8 that i want to get to level 10 at some point. i have 999 hitpoints as well and probably close to a billion bolts at this point since here is nothing I can buy anymore heh.

i wish there were MORE weapons actually, but like I said I beat the snot out of that game.

but we will just have to agree to disagree on certain things 🙂
