Rather than make two topics, I figured I would lump these together.

I was hoping to see how everyone ranked the R&C series in terms of best to worst and why. Same thing with DW series. I've been wanting to play them over again, but the last R&C I bought was Up Your Arsenal because the following titles didn't look like they added anything except multiplayer. Maybe I was wrong to stop at UYA, so if I was, maybe people here can sway me to continue on with the series.

With Dynasty Warriors, I only bought 4 and 5, but I played 3 extensively at a friends house. After hearing everyone revere DW 3 as being the best of the series, I was unable to find it located anywhere. Plus with as much hidden content as DW holds, I had plenty to do to tide me over. Also, I have no idea what the DW Empires or DW Extreme Legends is about, but I heard they were nothing like the original game.

So lets hear it. Your favorite titles in the two series (or just one if you only played one of the two) and why you think those selections are the best.

Dynasty Warriors doesn't really change that much as they release new versions. I used to play it a lot back in the day, but I haven't so much. Honestly, if you want to play a Musou game, consider playing one of the variants such as Dynasty Warriors: Gundam or New Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage. Both are anime-based games; the prior is based on the entire Gundam universe and the latter is based on New Fist of the North Star.

all 4 one definitely felt more childish as far as difficulty and it didn't include the dozes of weapons we're used to. just felt like a different forumula, although i still enjoyed it. quest for booty was just too short and had no new weapons. but for a $15 dlc game i can't really complain about either of those.

i probably liked tools of destruction the most though, since it was the first one for ps3 and i played the shit out of it. it was the only one that i actually completed 100% with all the gold bolts and got every weapon maxed out too. the length of this game was also LLOONNGG probably the longest platformer/adventure game i've played.

i don't really remember full frontal assault that much to be honest, but only cause it's been so long, and i remember i liked the crack in time one as well. i don't remember the ps2 ones very much, and i still want to get the collection at some point to play them on ps3 in hd.

not a fan of dynasty warriors.

Maybe I'll grab Tools of Destruction then. I didn't know it was so long as some people had claimed it was the shortest of all its predecessors.

Rachet and Clank A Crack in Time was the best of the series imo. I enjoyed all the R&C games and have most of them still but I found ACiT to be the best. The puzzles were very good, weapons were great, and the semi open world exploration in space was nice.

Never played R&C.

I was a big Dynasty Warriors fan though. My whole family got into it. I have 2, 3, 3 XL, 4, 4 XL, 4 Empires, 5, 5 XL, 5 Empires, 6, and finally 7.

Indeed, I do think 3 was the best in my opinion. It's the first one I ever played.

EDIT: Oh, I also have Samurai Warriors 1 and 2, along with Dynasty Warriors Gundam.

Rachet and Clank was fun to play. I played Dynasty Warriors they were fun as well but I feel that the graphics in every Dynasty Warriors game are not what I expected to be. The cinematic were good. All in all I like all the Dynasty Warriors series.

The DW:Gundam games are probably the best of the Musou games I've played. But, I only played the first 2. 3 probably is the best. Sadly, as much as I like the quite a few of the early Gundam series, the super robot phases after G Gundam really turn me off.

The first Gundam series that I ever saw was Wing because it was on Toonami way back when. I actually remember seeing the commercials prior to it airing, and thinking. "'politics'... 'intrigue'? That sounds boring as hell." I always wondered why they just didn't say, "BIG BADASS ROBOTS!!!!!!" The music in Gundam Wing is really good too. I think the only other Gundam series with a decent soundtrack (that I know of) would be SEED. Of course, I'm a bit biased with all that TMR. :$ I actually don't mind the powerful robots, because even if the enemy isn't that strong, they just end up getting strong too. It's almost like a reverse Dragonball Z where the enemy starts off weaker and powers up. :p What I hate is when the stories go to absolute crap. I only got about 42 episodes into Gundam AGE, and I just couldn't watch it anymore. The series wasn't that good to begin with, but it went to absolute crap. However, nothing will beat how awful that Gundam 00 movie was; God, that movie was terrible.

I was always more intrigued about the war and politics. Tomino did a great job on his more serious Gundam series. Alternating between a serious tone and a light hearted tone was a bit off, but I still enjoyed those series. The most dangerous job in the world was a MS pilot's girlfriend.
