Rare truck audio question.

I need a new head unit, antenna and x2 6x9's. Those are the only speakers in the truck. So I need some sound. What do I do you gurus.

The truck is only semi-rare. 1975 International Harvester Scout II with the 345 soon to be a bored and stroked 392 (will be 406).

How much work you want to do? Could do a custom kickpanel setup with fiberglass. Time consuming more then anything. Or drop in replacements for the quick and easy route.

A pair of Infinity Kappa 6x9 (Infinity's best 6x9 speaker) can be had on Ebay for quite a steal. I have a pair of them in the back of my car to compliment my Perfect 6.1 setup in the front. I'm running 125w to each channel and I've yet to blow them after a year. 😉 You won't be disappointed by Infinity's 6x9s. They get extremely loud and reproduce bass decently too.

With my setup, I can crank up some Nelly and stupid people think I have subs. It's great when I know that Infinity's aren't made for bass. Even when running the speakers at their max, I've only heard them distort once or twice in over a year. Running them at their max means the doors are open.. otherwise you'll put yourself in a comma from the dB.

Put into a comma by a 6x9 speakers??? Then my ID sub probably will kill you from a mile away.

Semi rare? Wow. They are almost impossible to find parts for (espescially body parts!)

We used to have a 79 Travelall. That has HI-SOOCIETY in the time! 🙂
