Is WD planning to make the Raptor in a bigger version? I wouldn't buy anything under 60GB now and I'd have to buy 2 Raptores and run RAID to get what I was looking for. I know Seagate makes a 120GB SATA, but it's alot slower.

you have to keep it small to run it at such a high speed. why not keep all the games/programs on the raptors then have a slow 120 gig pata drive to store documents, mp3s, and your digital photo archive

I haven't seen anything firm but I WOULD NOT be surprised to see 72GB Raptors (or equiv.) this fall.

Your best bet is to get a Raptor to use as a system/boot drive and a 1200JB or 2000JB as your everyday storage drive.

well, what I have now is a 40GB IBM 60GXP a 60GB 120GXP and a WD 200SE

I'm in no need for better/bigger storage, but if in the future I wanted to move to SATA I'd like to get a 60GB drive to avoid having to clean install and allow windows to backup and restore to the new drive being the same size.

Use Ghost it can backup and restore between drives/partitions of different size.
