Raptor goes down

wow.. i did not know raptor can bearly out perform 7200 drives... ncq.. may be the next best thing for ides... sata has 32 ncq but scsi pwnes with 256
 
ncq on a raptor would be interesting...

and i don't think that the raptor is really getting "owned" or anything here, still on the top of plenty of those charts...
but then again, i have to stick up for the raptor...since i own one. 😛 yet...work for maxtor... ><
 
I'll take my raptor anyday for game loading times. Also, looking at those benchmarks the raptor II is still on top in most categories...
 
I would definately not say the Raptor goes down. For 1 only the Alderwood and Grantsdale chipsets support NCQ. Also the Raptor wins a lot more times then loses. I would say the raptor is still the best but this card is definately giving it a run for its money. The thing that holding the Maxtor drive back is that feature is only support on Alderwood and Grandtsdale, and lack of 10,000 RPM. The WD is getting screwed over because of only 8mb cache, no NCQ, and small sizes.

raptor is still a sweet drive, it's just nice to see a high capacity drive compete. and i bet it'll be cheaper too.
