I've seen them around before, never ordered from them though. All the drives they ship are referbs w/ 1 year warentees.

It is white label. I wouldn't buy it at all. The last white label hard drive I bought was supposed to be a top of the line hard drive. It was the new Maxtor 16mb cache SATA hard drive and that thing had a life of just over a year.
I don't know if white label means refurbished, but I know there is something wrong with it that has or has not been fixed.

ZZF has this for $282 and monarch for $283. And thats with full 5 year warranty.

These guys have it with only a 1 year warranty. Its not worth a measly $30 to take such a huge hit in the warranty length (especially when I'm going to pay so much for the drive anyway, I want to know my investment will last a while). In fact thats probably how they have the price so low, they are buying them from WD without any warranty at all (like dell buys them). The warranty is going to be through these guys, not WD.

They are ripping people off! That drive is supposed to only be $50 more than the regular 150G Raptor. It should be no more than $350 but they are charging $430. The drive must be in real short supply if they are charging this much.

I rather spend the extra $33 on a good retailer namely Monarch.

What are you smoking? It's $450 at Monarch.

What are you smoking...it's not $450

Monarch link

Sorry, I was smoking. I was referring to this

I think that must be a price mistake. The one with the window is $350 MSRP and you can order it for that price direct from WD. Odds are they reversed the 4 and 3, it probably should be $340. Anyway, they dont have any stock of it.

For the record Monarchs drive for 283 is clearly an IDE picture as well, not that it means this other drive is ok, but retailers dont always take exact pictures of new products... The model number should be all that matters, now that doens't mean I'd buy this drive...

Don't know what picture you are looking at on Monarch but it looks like an SATA on my screen.

I dont think it is. These things are a bit too new for WD to be selling off refurbed units just yet.
But it DOES have a ONLY 1 year warranty. I explained why that probably is in a previous post.

IMHO the warranty length should be mentioned in the title :)

Real Raptor recertified drives have 5 years warranty as well. I know I've had like 5 of them - no probelms. That being said I have no idea what this thing is....
