Woo... So... pretty much... My dad's dell came in this afternoon... I ask him if I can set it up for him... He tells me no. So... I ask him if he would like to set it up himself since its his dell... He says no...

So now... he wants me to wait at home with 3 dell boxes waiting to be assembled together... Until he comes so I can "assist him in putting it together..."...

Its a prebuilt dell with a monitor, keyboard, and a mouse...

So tell me... why doesn't a father trust their son who's has had experience in computer building?

Enjoying the fun of putting it together?...
Father and son moment?...
You tell me...

Maybe he wants to learn something by being there when you put it together?

Clearly your only recourse is to smash the dell with a baseball bat...then his windshield. :p

Combine those two responses and I bet you have your answer.

Yup. A lot of people like to be the ones to open a new toy they bought.

If it weren't for goku's spate of moronic threads today, this would take lamest rant of the day honors.

Consider it some father-son time. You can help him put it together and answer his questions.

Are you an "upgrader"?

A lot of PC geniuses like to remove the extraneous crap loaded in the Dells, but when they get overzealous, end up causing problems. I'd leave it the hell alone for a week, just to make sure it runs as advertised right out of the box. If it screws up during that period, Dell can be expected to fix it without you being blamed.

I was wondering where you've been Ornery.

He probably wants to learn a little something, and that is best done hands-on. But he wants you there to ensure he doesn't screw anything up. Really pretty understandable, attaching a monitor to a tower is like rocket science for most non-enthusiasts. Calm down.

I'll give this rant a 2 out of 10. You're going to have to learn to get some more anger in there, some passion, some emotion...something. ;)
