Rant:

I now have 4 credit cards, all of which claim to have online functions, none of which seem to work.

Every time i try to sign up its either "your name doesnt match our records", "your account is not on our records", or they want me to enter some rediculous information that they never sent me.

Note: these cards are activated, and i have used them before.

Cards:
Providian Visa Platinum
Ebay Mastercard Platinum
Sams Club Discover Business Membership Credit
Discover Platinum

Are there any companies out there that dont spam me with stupid ass sales calls and have working websites? Because im tired of this crap. I just wanted to check my credit limit on the Sams club discover and it says my information doesnt match their records...

Heh, I think I came up with the answer a few months ago, if they can fsuk you up on apayment or 2, they get lots more $ out of you...

What happened when you called to get assistance from those card issuers?

They outsourced call centers to bob in India, or you have to wait an hour.

They also outsourced the development of all their web apps to the same place which is why none of them work either.

If all four aren't working, you are probably at fault.

Did you call them? What did they say?

Of the four, I only have Discover and have never had a problem with online access, downloading transactions into Quicken, etc. I think I've only needed to call them once and had no problem.

Providian is a known crappy outfit, so I wouldn't expect their web site to be all that good.

I don't know who issues the Ebay card. [edit - it's MBNA. I have one of their cards as well, through AAA, and have had no problems with the online access or downloading transactions]

Isn't your credit limit printed on your statement? In my experience that's usually the case.

If the information that you're putting into the website matches *exactly* the name and address on your last credit card statement, then you shouldn't have a problem... I'm somewhat familiar with the way credit card operations happen over the web, and I've never had any difficulty. Nor has anyone [with a valid credit card] that has bought things from one of the websites I manage that accepts credit cards.

The ebay card is providian too 🙁 says it on my statement, they are the ones that keep calling me to sell me supplemental health insurance and send me cash advance checks and crap too. I certianly wouldnt recommend a providian card to anyone.

I have no problems using the cards, but the online transaction viewing and account systems are what suck horribly.

My girlfriends works fine, my cards dont seem to friggin exsist on the web, yet i get my statements every month.

More than likely, the address you enter didn't match with what they got on file.

My address hasnt changed for 5 years, the cards are less than a year old 🙁

If they got your info:

23451 ABC Street, #234
ZYX, ST 31349

And you enter:

23451 ABC St., Apt. #234
ZYX (or some new name), ST 31349

-- from our stand point, those are 2 are the same, but from the software that do the validation, that could be different. just saying...

Ah... well then, in that case, I doubt that the problem is with your name/address, since they would hopefully be passing validation when you use them online.
