RANT: You have a backrest on the seat in your car, why not use?

I keep seeing black and Latino guys (mostly anyway) driving around with their head barely sticking above the window level of their cars. They have their seat tilted so far back, it's in the backseat and the stupidest part, they aren't even using the backrest. They just have their arm slumped over the steering wheel holding their body up.

What is up with this? I've seen it for a few years, but it seems VERY popular among young black and latino men right now. Of course these are the same guys that have their music so loud, you can't hear your own when they park next to you. :disgust:

I could really care less, but I was just wondering why people do it? Is it cool now a' days?

That is my rant for today!

Blame it on the movie "The Fast and the Furious."

Fully 99% of the sh1t attitude that anyone under 25 years old has can be blamed on this movie.

When their music is up so loud you can't hear your own, and they can barely see out the window... they'll never see what you toss on their car... 🙂 Now, I'll leave it up to you to decide what to toss.

This has been around for a while and seems to be some gangsta influenced thing. ::shrug::

I'm 6'3". When I'm in my Saturn station wagon, I am more comfortable with the seat damn near all the way back than I am with it up. If I lean against the seat, I lean too far back and the car is harder to control. If I put the seatrest up, my head is almost touching the ceiling and the steering wheel is too close to my chest, which, you guessed it, makes the car harder to control. With the seat almost all the way back but not quite, I at least still get lower lumbar support, and I feel more comfortable driving.

Furthermore, I see just as many white guys doing it as blacks and latinos, so why don't we just stop the racist crap thats been running rampant in these forums lately.

On a final note, if it doesn't affect you, why don't you just mind your fvcking business and worry about yourself.

Errr... what part of the country do you live in? Do you live in Fairbanks, Alaska... then $hut the f#$K up! Around here... I MOSTLY see blacks and latinos driving like this, I DIDN'T say ONLY.

As for minding my own business, $hut the f#$K up again. As I said in my original post

I live near Lancaster, PA. If you haven't heard of it, go watch Wierd Al Yankovic's 'Amish Paradise' video. It shouldn't matter if you see mostly blacks and latinos driving like that. In fact, it shouldnt matter that anyone drives like that. I bet if all you saw were white people driving like that, EVER, you wouldn't have ranted about it... you may have even started doing it yourself just to fit in. However, because blacks and latinos do it, it must be a bad thing right? Otherwise, why would you mention that blacks and latinos are mostly the ones you see doing it?

At least if you're going to make a racist comment, be a man about it, don't use a cop-out statement like 'I could really care less'. If you could really care less, why make a whole post with a 'RANT' title about it? Don't be so friggin P.C. about everything.

Say what you mean, or don't say anything at all.

I would say the same thing about the other guy.

it is directly related to the amount of ass/underware the driver chooses to show the world when walking.
as the iq drops so does the pants and the profile...

My question is.. why do so many guys lean to the center of the car while they are driving.. its like they are sitting in the middle of the dash.

😉

You need to check out the "limbo" thread. You have some requests....😀

Heh...can't we all just get along? They bought what they bought and they can use it how they see fit. Why do you care? Do it hurt you to see all the trendyness all around you?

At 6'2", I can't fit in most cars with the seatback up in the defaul position. Getting into almost any car, I have to put the seat all the way back and recline the seatback a couple of clicks just to be even moderately comfortable. And yes, I like my stereo loud (usually playing metal or hard rock of some type), I drive import cars, I like my windows tinted, and I'm white, TYVM.

Hah!

on a side note: why is it when anyone says the word black or latino they are automatically a racist?

You guys that are saying you are 6'x, i don't think you are understanding what he is saying. He is talking about a guy 5'4" that does that and holds themselves upright by holding on to the steering wheel or by propping themselves up on an elbow.

I think they lean back that far, and lean towards the centers, to their head is directly in the center of the 4 speakers of their car, thus putting them in the middle of the 4 sound waves and making the music sound perfect.

Of course, I might have just made that up. You never know with me.

Still, what does it matter? All I see is a thinly veiled attempt at racism here, not some valid rant.. I mean, in what way does this affect him? I could see if they're weaving all over the road, but if they're not where's the problem?

I suppose you are one of those guys that thinks Sammy Sosa being caught with a corked bat is all racial too.

Actually no, I think he's just a cheater. This was pretty obviously a 'why do blacks and latinos do this? what is wrong with them? why can't they drive normal?' kind of thing though. I might have viewed it differently if it were meant to spark legitimate discussion.
