Rant: YMCA membership fee's are expensive

I've been looking to join a gym for the summer to stay in shape. I only need it for the summer because I can use the schools gym during the school year. So I go to the local YMCA expecting a cheap membership fee but what do i see?

$100 sign up fee
$39 month.

As a not for profit organization, their pricing doesnt reflect it. 24 hour fitness has better pricing.

Last year I paid 15 a month with no sign up fee. I wonder what changed?

That include pool and basketball/tennis court use? That's what a lot of weight clubs charge...without the pool and courts.

They have a pool, indoor basket ball courts, and a nice skatepark. It still doesnt justify following pricing plans of FOR PROFIT companies like 24 hr which have the same amenities minus the skate park.
