I just picked up the World Series of Poker PC game, and under the parental rating, one of the warnings is "Simulated Gambling"

Holy fvckin' sh!t!, a poker game simulates gambling???

I really feel sorry for the kids of America, when I was a kid there was no warning on Lawn darts that said "Simulated Cranial Impailment"...

This makes the "Simulated baby jesus" cry.

Gambling may not be addicting for you (or myself), but it can be very addicting to younger people (who are more susceptible).

Gambling can be dangerous in the hands of the wrong people.

And btw, why would anyone want to play a computerized poker game? Playing with fake chips or against a computer is just a crap shoot.
 
just in case you hadn't heard there are a lot..and i do mean a lot of stupid people in this country and unfortunately there is not a stupidity check when filing frivolous lawsuits....

seems a lot of these stupid people also like to sue....and they win since the juries, made up of stupid people also, like to award them a lot of money 😛

You are what's wrong with this country! It's a videogame and I'm sure you are old enough to purchase anything rated T and above, so why worry? It's a videogame! Jeebus!

And the only reason I am this worked up is because today in class for almost 2 hours I sat and listened to the guy two rows up try and make small talk to the girl next to him, but the only thing he could talk about is fuggin videogames. She was obviously somewhat interested until after maybe the 5th or 6th akward silence followed by more videogame talk. This is what's wrong with America!
 
When I was a teenager, I had 2 friends who appeared to be addicted to gambling, or maybe just stupid like many regular gamblers. Long story short, steal parents' money, lose parents' money, pawn parents' small appliances.

The point: just because you're not dumb enough to become addicted to gambling doesn't mean other people aren't (have you met some of the fvcking morons that live in this country?), and if you're a minor, its usually not going to be your money you're losing...so I understand the rating.

Um, I enjoy poker and it was only $20. Something to talk about at my Friday night live game.
 
As for the quality of the game itself, it does crash A LOT. I actually can't get past the intro screen on my laptop. Good job activision!

For the sense of beating something.

You can play all the fake money poker you want online, but you'll never totally beat it.

There is an end to the tunnel here, not just accumulating billions and billions of fake money.

It's a POKER game. Maybe if it was "dora and thomas the tank engine go to the zoo" it would be a good idea to warn about the possibility of gambling . . . but it's POKER.
