Ok, so I download this shareware game called snood, which comes with some Bullsh*t program that is supposed to store my user info and passwords, help me out, etc. so, I decide that this extra program is annoying me, and I uninstall it using the control panel. But the goddamn program (WHY TF they'd do this I don't know) had, without asking, of course, included my AIM buddy list and profile in its settings...so now my list and settings are all gone. WTF! piece of Sh*t program! Now I gotta rebuild my buddy list from my last backup, which sux because I'd added a lot of friends since then. $*%$$%%^&%$% (or however I'm supposed to represent a scream/curse).

That's why you don't install useless little POSs like that.

Seriously, though...

Kill him. It will be fun.

this is annoying. Now I have to reinstall AIM, cuz it keeps locking up when I try to reload my buddy list (from last month)...easy enough, but not making me any happier.

Hey, simple solution.

Kill the file called cdtool.dll in your Windows/System32 directory and restart IM. All should be well ;)

NFS4:

Thank you very much. you just saved me a lot of time. after reinstalling AIM I couldnt import my old buddy list, and I was getting kinda desperate/pissed-off. I renamed cdtool.dll and now it works again-in fact, my old (correct) list is there, even though I'd thought it was lost since the aim directory with my profile had disappeared.

thanks again
