So I made this thread not too long ago, decided on the Clamperpod2 instead, and placed an order on their website (they have presence on eBay too) - that was on June 22 (Thursday last week).

For such a simple order, I assume that it will not take more than 10 mins to package and ship it right out. Come June 27 (Tuesday), no news or package, I shot an inquiry to them:
Has this order shipped yet? Thanks.

No reply after 48 hours, I shot them another email on June 29 (Thursday):
It's been a week now since placed the order and I have received no shipping confirmation or any sort of reply to my inquiry. I am leaving the country on July 4th and if you guys haven't shipped it already, it will be useless because there is no way that it can reach me in time with the weekend and holiday.

Please tell me what's going on with this order so that I can buy something elsewhere if I have to. Thank you.

Then today morning they finally replied:

Thank you for your purchase!

Sorry for the delay, the ClamperPods were temporarily out of stock and
did not arrive as soon as we expected.

We have upgraded you shipping to Priority Mail and your package will
likely  arrive on Monday.

Your Pod-Products purchase shipped 06/30/2006 via U.S. Postal Service
Priority Mail to the following address:

<snip>generic shipping info</snip>

Monday? My apartment's customer service receives packages on our behalf. They are closed on Monday and Tuesday as I expected, and I'm leaving on Tuesday.

So I'm being a little more dramatic here than I should, but I'm pissed because:
[*]they failed to inform me, while placing the order and after, that they didn't have it in stock.
[*]they did not reply my emails *at all*
[*]when they sorta did (it was generated by Endicia), they never addressed my concerns
[*]they shipped it anyway, fully aware that it might not reach me in time

So I guess this serves as a warning to anyone that ever considered buying from them. Looks like I have to overpay at some retail store to get the Bogen/Manfrotto clamps after all.

I was going to send a scathing email to them but that's not gonna do much good. Any suggestions?

Did they ever guarantee a shipping turnaround? If so, then you have no room to b!tch because you waited until what essentially amounts to the last minute to order. A week turnaround is normally pretty good - we nerds have just been pampered. I've had Amazon orders take WAY longer than that.

I completely understand what you mean. Slow turn-around doesn't bother me.. but the complete lack of communication is the one that gets me. Had they told me that they are out of stock, I would've cancelled the order and got it elsewhere.
