In the past 48 hours, my water heater exploded, destroying (at last price check) a couple grand worth of comic books (Amazing Spider-man #1 through #360, and some others). last night I went to bed, at least a little cheerful since I got my new motherboard and got everything hooked up. Overnight, the clip to my HSF popped off. I had the thermal protection off because the 8k3a+ reads temps all screwed up and it was resetting the computer when the cpu was actually only at about 45c. So the motherboard caught on fire. The capacitors burst. Luckily my house didnt burn down, and I think only the motherboard died. I had it laying flat so it didnt take out my video card, i dont think.

Tonight I'm getting a bottle of Yukon Jack and drinking myself into a coma.

That is all.

On a brighter note, I did find another 8k3a+ and the guy lives local so I'll have it tomorrow. This time I'm getting a bios update that fixes the temp sensor problem before I go to bed.

Dude, that sucks! How the heck does a water heater blow up though? Did the tank become just too thin and water gushed everywhere?

well bad luck comes in threes, so be careful about drinking yourself into a coma because it may come true.
