Rant - Voice Mail Boxes

I have three voice mail boxes (work, home, cell). All three have different commands for everything.

Delete: 9, 3, 7
Fast Forward: ?, ?, 3
Back Up: ?, ?, ?

Why the hell can't the keys be standard. I can't count the number of times I have deleted new home messages by pressing 3-3-3 to get to the end of the current message.

It has gotten to the point where I don't try to do anything special with any of the messages out of fear of deleting one or more messages.

It seems like 5-10 years ago. Things were more standard. 3-3-7 always seemed to fast forward the current message and delete it. It is all different now.

Progress my ass....

I feel your pain.

I have 4 I think

work
home (never use)
cell
independant

Different commands for each.

Ahh thats my pet peeve too! I still can't figure out how to fast forward through my messages with AT&T wireless. I hate listening to the whole message.

Answering machines never had a standard set of buttons. Some had big round ones in the middle that said "Play". Some had small ones on the left. Some were on the right. The one I have now doesn't have a Play button. It has a Mailbox button.

But at least the buttons were labeled what they were...
