Why bother to take an item, drag out the digicam, take a shot, and put it up on an image site if it's going to come out like a big friggin' blur?

Use the friggin' macro/fixed focus/"flower" mode.

That is all.

He does have a point though. Too many people neglect the macro mode entirely.

I can guarantee 95% of people that own a camera don't even know what macro mode is.

yanno, i have macro mode on my camera, but i have no idea how to use it... if i take a picture of something using macro mode, and try to get close to it, it says i'm too close... if i keep backing up, it still comes out blurry, or it's too small in the frame itself

i use it. but not very good with it. but then again i don't play with it much.

also hear you really need a macro lense for good shots.

Thank you. But you have to realize a majority of people can easily take pretty good macros just by using their "macro mode". You are somebody that probably understands photography. I don't pretend to be an expert, just know enough to be dangerous.

For others (and photo expert please correct me) your camera/lense has a minimum focal length...meaning it can only get so close to the subject before it is unable to actually focus on it.

Think that's bad? Several members (read: the girls) of yearbook club enjoy turning on "flower mode" when taking pictures because it's supposedly got something to do with pretty flowers. I sh!t you not.
