WTF, why does this professor only check emails 3 times a week, so fucking irritating. So unreliable, and who the hell schedules email checking?

He screwed something up and has no idea how to fix it and he wont see any of the 5 emails I sent him until Friday....

They may have a life outside of their university responsibilities. I dont check my employee email from home, and i doubly would not on my days off. Learn to live within his office hours.

What could be so important that it cant wait till friday? Nothing.

Office hours? TA's? Classmates?

I went there, I waited in his chair from 2pm to 3:30 which is his scheduled office hours for that day... I did get his personal Email address from the math department, so I shot of an email to that.

No TA's

Classmates have the same issue, The problem is he set the online homework to end on Aug 4th 11:59pm, but he set the course to end at Aug 4th 12am, which is his mistake, he said he had fixed it 3 times now, but it is still not fixed, and he does not know it has not fixed due to him not checking his damn emails!!.

you're lucky that your professor even responds. I'm pretty damn sure that my boss would never respond to her students. :D

plus, the astonishing number of constant idiotic requests that professors and admins get from the general student population pretty much explains this situation, imo.

its a small class, I dont think there are many "Idiotic requests"

TA's? Classmates?

No TA's its a class of like 20 students

So, if he is aware there was a discrepancy even though he presently believes it was fixed, why is that a problem? Does the system automatically fail you if the time stamp doesn't match?

Since the course ended, the Course Portal says " You currently have no active courses."

He needs to extend the course date, which he said he has done, about 3 times now. I requested that he call the "Instructor Support line"

Pretty sure he is referring to why the professor does not make himself accessible at all times.

Yea, I'm just frustrated. And I should be worried its 10% of my grade, I did about 75% of it already. I need/want to finish

Never, ever, do course work without saving it to media even if you have to do screen shots.

I guess your right, but everything it still there, I just cant access it. But Ill keep this in mind for the future.

Update: So Finally the teacher opens the course, but the homework is now past due! And the course is closing tonight! again.

So we still cant do shit, I cannot believe this teacher... Now we need to wait until Monday, Yes Monday..... when he read the emails that no one was able to do it. Then it will take another 24 hours to open the course, The Grades are due by Wednesday.

Hope you get it straightened out. From my experience at several Universities, I'd have to say CS profs were the all time worst at using the net to give homework. Kinda like the English chair who told me he didn't have time to use spell check.

What are you complaining about. I send emails out to emails and people never reply. Simple stuff too like "I can't find your phone number, could you send it to me". Nothing. You get more info like that Googling someone's name than asking them directly. I guess it bothers me since I always try to get back to people.

Obviously you don't teach at a university. Students are an evil distraction from publishing and grant writing. Hell, university departments don't even answer the phone let alone individuals.

Oh yea, and he is also has stopped emailing, he opened the course today, made a note about it on Blackboard( a place where he can put announcements) but never emailed people saying it was fixed. I cannot stay on my computer refreshing waiting for him, you know. This is so irritating. ugh. I should have B but 3 extra % on my grade which is what is missing right now will be helpful.
