Today, I forgot to lock my car. Went into work and came out at the end of the day to find my radar detector gone. DMN!

Now I have to go buy a new one. Thieves just makes me so pssed sometimes.

Yeah... in my family we have a habit of locking it no matter what and if w ehave our radar detector we usually put it in the glove box locked or something...

Irony? They're legal here in CA.

Point being? Of course they are, but what are their intended purposes? To break the law. So your device you use to break the law was taken by someone breaking the law. That is ironic. Thank you.

Hmmmm. Good point.

I was going to say he should start driving smart instead of relying on an electronic gadget. My words would have been lost in the wind, though.

BTW, I don't feel a bit bad about you losing your radar detector.

Yep I had one stolen about a month ago. I was discussing it today with my friend, and we talked about the irony - ironic, aint it?

If they're intent was to break the law, wouldn't they be illegal or is our system just too screwed up?

FYI, I don't use it to intentionally break the law, but alot of the time, we tend to go over the limit without realizing it and when the device goes off, it reminds me to check my speed whether I'm speeding or not. You'd never know if you never owned one.

Yeh I have the same problem. I got a bottom of the line civic and it did not come with a speedometer.

I'll admit I do speed intentionally plenty of times but lots of times I'm just watching the road and end up speeding up w/o noticing it has saved me plenty in that situation.

oh please...tell me the people who are saying that he deserved it drive 65 mph and under if the speed limit was 65...NO ONE drivse under the speed limit.. if its 65..people at least drive 70ish...and i hate people who FOLLOW the speed limit say on a 30 mph road...and theres NO CARS at all.

Like speeding and theft are comparable crimes...

Sorry, Mil... but what the hell? Speeding isn't even a "crime," it's an infraction. While theft can be a felony. And owning a radar detector does not even mean that you will speed, just that you want to avoid tickets in the event that you might speed. And you, who has bragged of street racing, to speak of this 😕 I think the stupidity of ATOT is finally poisoning your mind...

I left my car at a garage to get some work done, and instead of taking the radar detector with me, I stuck it under the seat. Got the car back, and guess what? Radar detector was gone.

Of course, I had to get a replacement.

If it's a 30 MPH road, it's almost always RESIDENTIAL, or commercial with a significant number of pedestrians around.

Don't speed on that type of road, you moron!

Problem being Vic, is I never said I had ANY problem with someone speeding. I just said I thought the situation was ironic, and I am not the only one who saw the irony in it(see other posts). I never mentioned anything other than why I thought it was ironic. My point was, the whole situation was ironic and I found it amusing. BTW, Vic speeding is one of the lowest crimes you can committ(so it isn't listed in the NCVS or UCRs) but it is a crime. A crime is simply an act committed in violation of the law. I think you misunderstood me.
