As some of you may recall, I had troubles with one of my roommates. The whole money issue was resolved by deciding to split the bills evenly. However, his spoiledness has not been solved.
As we go shopping for groceries again at Costco, "Dave" goes off to get food that he likes to add to the group shopping cart (i.e. Pringles and Speciality Pasta). Another roommate and I complain because neither of us wants to waste money on it. However, we end up giving in because of his complaining and his not carrying money with him. The problem is that he hasn't really learned the idea of sharing and group food and instead hoards it for himself. He has the delusional idea that because he picked it out, it should be HIS food and no one else's.
For example, the box of Pringles has 6 cans and there's 4 of us. Dave has already ate 2 cans by himself, yet he complains when I open a can because it's his Pringles.
Due to his spoiledness, he doesn't cook either so he ends up eating bread for lunch and dinner. We usually buy two loaves of bread to last us two weeks as lunch, but we end up running into the 2nd loaf half way into the first week because "Dave" keeps making sandwiches to eat while he WoWs because it is convenient.
Fvcking bastard.

Cliffs:
1. Sharing is good.
2. Learning to cook ftw so you don't eat all the goddamn instant food.
there is no way to make "community food" work... ever, this is the fastest way to totally destroy a shared living situation.
I'm in a shared housing situation ,we started out doing community food, then we went to a system where we took turns ordering and paying for the food, then we went to separate food, with each of us taking turns buying bread/milk, we then went to a situation where I bought a 4.3 cubic ft fridge,it's stylish and keeps things like soda, milk, juice, fresh fruit, spendy gourmet snacks at my fingertips. We still store our meat and such in the community fridge but thus far this is the best possible solution
Wheever several unrelated people live together there are always going to be squabbles over food.
