(rant) Thanks for all the damn spam, idiotic webapp devs!

Just a bit of a rant here.

I got up early due to a bit of insomnia, and found about 40 emails in my gmail inbox (which barely ever puts spam in my inbox)... I am quite surprised, as I only get an average of 1-3 emails a day (besides the auto-tagged and corralled spam).
I see all sorts of "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" automated spam BS in my inbox, one after another after another, from all sorts of forum software, sites I had registered at for various things, and even more I have long since left.

Yeah, thanks for the spam on my birthday, you dolt programmers.
grrrr. What a way to start a morning.

See, that would require having one. I actually get laughs out of that kind of crap ad - I guess they think that all people with email addresses are male, or maybe they assume all women have a boyfriend they will forward it to... of course I have neither

I don't even see those, actually, well I never really check the spam box anymore in gmail, so I could be getting them in there but *shrug*

the nice thing about gmail from google's perspective, is that it's still in beta. so they can say that they had some problems and basically say your problem. oh well. it doesn't happen often. and yeah, Happy Birthday! :gift:
