Supermarkets are *relatively* well designed to keep the crowds moving through them...except for the friggin deli counter!
Almost everyone going to the supermarket buys lunch meats, so naturally it's one of the busiest parts of the supermarket...but then why does it seem they always put the slowest, most inept people on deli duty?
I spent over 15 minutes in line at the deli counter yesterday just to get some stupid turkey and cheese. And there were only FOUR people in line total...and there were TWO guys working the deli! It was unreal
The ENTIRE rest of my shopping took 15 minutes. So right there, i doubled my time in the store. I swear if the worker would just move a *little* bit faster they could cut the wait time in half!
I once saw a supermarket where you place your meat order on a computer, then come and pick it up when you're done shopping. I've never seen that again. But that makes sense!
