My gf bought me a nice Casio EX-S2 digital camera for christmas last year

recently the LCD has been all f'ed up, going to black and only getting an image when you shake it (like a messed up nintendo). And I was getting these "card read error" when trying to actually snap a shot

she also bought me the "Carry-in Repair" plan for like an extra $80, so I thought I'd be set. I brought it in and filled out paperwork whatever. I get the camera back a MONTH later (they initially said a week) and the exact same problem still exists.

I better not go in there and they tell me they have to re-send it out and wait another month. They've already did that and it did not fix a damn thing. Can I just demand they replace it?

most of the instore stuff require 3 repairs within a years period before they replace it.. they will get it right the 3rd time.

Last time someone I know was in this situation, it wsa a 1600$ laptop.

They gave that person a 1800$ laptop (after he waited 30 days to get it back to no avail) and then gave him the old, repaired laptop.

My CompactFlash 802.11b card has a replacement plan - the rep didn't even offer me a repair plan.-

I had the same problem getting a camera fixed at Best Buy. I had to send it in 4 times over a 6 month period. Each time it came back it was not fixed and to top it all off on the second time they returned it they said there is "impact" damage on it. The "impact" damage was a very small scratch on one of the corners, it was not a impact dent. :|

I finally got ahold of some manager at the service center and ripped him a new one. My camera finally got fixed but i will never ever shop at best buy again.

My advice to you is to talk to the manager of the service center they ship your camera too and make sure he knows who you are and you want it fixed.

Essientally, yes. I'm not sure if he was supposed to get it back. But the store didn't seem to know either.
