So I'm working as a loan officer and I get most of my leads from lendingtree.com
What I do is I call them back to discuss their options and save them money so they don't get burned during closing, but a lot of these people think that they know everything and they assume that I'm just some telemarketer.
I had some lady that was obviously getting ripped off by etrade and before I could explain how whe was getting ripped off, she slammed the phone on me. What a bxxxh
If these people don't want me to call them, why the hell would they apply through lendingtree anyways? Isn't the whole point of lendingtree is to get lenders to compete for their business? It's not like i'm cold calling them.

I still don't understand why people apply and not want us to call them back with the quotes...

Yeah, then proceed to tell her how you plan on ripping her off, then inform her of her options with other banks.

Lol, yes I call them up and introduced myself from lendingtree and what company I'm with.
Basically when you apply through lendingtree, you're going to have 4 banks competing for your business. I didn't even have the chance to explain to her how we could save her some money and she hung up on me.
O well it's her loss. I'm gonna have more leads tomorrow and I can help other people who actually want to get home purchase or refinance loan.

Maybe they prefer email contact. Is that an option? I never answer my phone.

There's an area called "customer comments" where they can state where they want to be contacted, the best time to contact them, or whatever information they want to give us. If it's empty, I try calling them at work during the day, at home in the evening, and I even send them introduction email before I call them.
A lot of these people don't reply their emails, don't call back if I leave messages, and impossible to reach. If they don't want us calling them, they shouldn't have applied in the first place and go to their local bank and get ripped off.

I have better things to do then to try to call people who are not serious about getting a loan everytime. I have lots of people who are serious and I would really like to spend more time talking to these people instead of trying to call the flakers.
If they're just shopping around, at least let me know one way or another, don't just avoid my phone calls. I can still help them even if they're not going with me...

Perhaps some of the emails you send out are caught by spam filters? Judging by your sig, that wouldn't surprise me..

Maybe they actually expect to have a dozen or so loan guys lined up in their living room?

Like I said, lending tree will only send their request to 4 selected banks to compete. This means, whoever goes through lending tree will not be getting dozens of phone calls.
And everytime I send them email, I always put lending tree on the subject line. I don't see why that wouldn't go through the spam filter. I have spam filter and I get my emails when I send emails to myself.
