Rant on Car Repair shops

I went in for an oil change and state inspection, it came out to be 160 dollars. Yes they called me and I agreed to changing the air and fuel filters for another 50 bucks. but dude i never asked for new wiper blades or getting wiper fluids! they charged me 25 dollars for the pair of blades and 3 dollar for 2 bottles! i filled that up like last week! WTF! :| and 8 dollar for a brake lamp bulb! i should've done it myself before bringing it in!

and this is a shop in a mobil gas station too. i assumed they'd be less shady than your normal auto repair shop.

when they scre you like that, you have a moral responsibility to rant and rave and make a fool of yourself.

Why not refuse the wiper blades and fluid? If you never authorized it, they're ripping you off. You're the customer...you're ALWAYS right.

i already know what they gonna say if i said i never agreed to the wiper blade fluid and brake lamps, they'll say i wont pass the state inspection if they dont do it. i live in new york. everybody is trying to rip everyone else off

Get a good mechanic. I've been taking my car to the same guy since I moved to the area I'm in now, and he's never ripped me off. I really only take my cars in when I'm stumped or it's a job that I don't have the tools to do it by myself.

So you walk somewhere else and purchase $3 wiper blades, walk back to garage, place new blades on and tell them to remove their $25 rip off blades.

i'll make sure i purchase spare brake lamps and wiper blades and have them inside the car. next time i go for an inspection i'll tell them if you want to remove my old ones, call me back i'll install my backups and go f themselves.

im sure then they'll be pvssed and find a way to break my brakes or my transmission box or something
