OMFG these @sshats. i fvcking forgot to send in my Questionaire in January and so they cancelled my policy as of the end of this years term (March 23 to be precise). i'm currently renting a vehicle so that i don't drive without insurance, it takes 5 business days before my next policy takes effect.

I can't believe these @sshats didn't pick up the fvcking phone and call me before cancelling. i've been with them for 5 years, i have my homeowners policy, my life insurance and my sep account, and my kids college funds with these fvcking people.

Fvck that sh1t, NEVER again will i deal with Liberty Mutual.

i talked to a couple of other agents and they say, their biggest source of clients are disgruntled liberty mutual people.

OMFG this SUX, because i had a laps of coverage of about 10 days (when i finally have coverage again) my rates go up.

THIS IS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVAR.

Only 4 cuss words? I have more than that in one sentence. Good rant structure, poor use of the English language. I give it a 6/10.

they are right to an extent.

their response is, by state law they cannot reinstate my insurance because of the way they filed the cancelation.

i understand that part of it, and i admit, it was my responsibility to get that questionaire in. :(

i still would have preferred that they called me first and let me know they were cancelling before they did so. :( i was paid up for the year so didn't really look for mail from them. :(

anyway, as the prudential agent (who will get all my business now) said, it was still bad customer service.

What's that?

your in NJ too right?? i don't know about other states but in NJ you are required to fill out a questionaire towards the end of your policy and send it back, this questionaire asks about your driving habits etc and they determine your next years rate based on it (and other factors).

i didn't get mine sent back and they cancelled me without any verbal warning.

OBVIOUSLY if i didn't get their other letters (which i never did) you would think that they would try to reach me via another method.

:)

check out prudential, i like the agent i'm dealing with now.

btw, i found out just YESTERDAY that i didn't have coverage. i called THEM because i was wondering why my new policy stuff wasn't showing up.

having found out i was without insurance, i frantically called all the agents in the area, the prudential agent was the most personable.

i usually go thru agents for stuff like this and with liberty mutual an agent sold me the policy, but liberty mutual did away with most of their agents. :(

agents tend to give you better Customer Service than corporate peoples.

this is what REALLY pisses me off.

they send me a questionaire by mail ( i never get it) i don't return it.

they send me ANOTHER questionaire by mail (i never got it) i don't return it

so they send me a FINAL letter and a warning (according to them anyway).

well if i didn't respond to the first 2 isn't there a chance that either, i'm having problems with my mail OR they are sending it to the wrong address??

wouldn't attempting another form of communication BE APPROPRIATE BEFORE CANCELLING THE FVCKING POLICY.

OMFG..

i'm definitely going to transfer all my accounts, sure my accounts my only mean a small total dollar profit for them but still, you would think they would want to keep clients who do a lot of business with them.

Something like this happened to me just recently. I paid the intial downpayment for the policy for my car insurance which took care of the first month of the policy. Afterwards I never recieved anything from them until I get a letter in the mail saying that due to nonpayment my policy will be canceled as of 3/19 at 12:01 am. I get this letter after I come home from work on 3/19. I check the date it was sent out too and it was stamped by the post office on the 3/17. Never got a call or anything. Since I got my insurance through a broker I called them up and when he spoke to the insurance company, they still had my bills sitting in their offices, but it was my responsibility to pay thems till even if I didnt recieve a bill. I dropped those morons in a second.

Liberty mutual told me it was a state reg, but the prudential guy told me, that agents take care of some of the paper work.

check it out with your state farm agent.

Had a similar problem with American Family a few years back.

Set up our insurance with them when we moved to Colorado ... lived in an apartment for a few months, so was just cars.

Bought a house, picked up homeowners insurance through them also.

Fast forward a year...

I get a cancelation notice from them stating that I am behind on my car insurance payment. I check my payment records and discover that they are correct ... I haven't paid in several months.

Now I am very organized about paying bills ... as soon as they come in, I log on and pay it with my electronic bill pay. Of course, this insurance has to be difficult and bill on a 10 month schedule ... so I can't set it up as an automatic payment. And this was at the end of the 10 month cycle, so I didn't notice the missing bills because I was already expecting two months to be missing.

So I ask where they were sending the bills. They started sending them back to the apartment address that we lived in for 3 months!

So let's get this straight ... they sent it to the correct address for a YEAR, then reverted to the old address that I had for 3 months. They also obviously had my correct address because a. my home owners insurance was with them. b. they sent the cancelation notice to the correct address!! And they canceled my policy without any attempt to contact me or check things out, despite insuring 2 cars and a house with them, and never having been late on the payments.

They reinstated things without prejudice, and I actually stayed with them until a few months later when they did the exact same thing again!?! I caught it this time when I didn't get the bill on time, but that was the end of our business with American Family Insurance.

unfortunately, LM cannot by state law reinstate me because of the way the cancelled my policy, i got this confirmed via my lawyer and a couple of other agents. so that wasn't a possibility.

again, their customer service was HORRID.
